With the release of "Razing a Nation", Arlan Feiles establishes himself as an important new songwriter and musician with a powerful and poetic vision. Using a homemade studio, an acoustic guitar, harmonica and piano, Feiles has made an album with lyrics that don't hammer home a specific theme so much as suggest ideas the way great paintings do. From the achingly beautiful "Drifted Town" (featuring backing vocals by the fabulous Shannon McNally), to the politically urgent anti war rallying cry; "Sign Up", Feiles effortlessly weaves his songcraft with an enduring and spontaneous debut solo album.
Although "Razing a Nation" is his debut album, Arlan has worked with some of the giants of the industry. He has been produced and mentored by legendary Producer Tom Dowd. In addition, Arlan has recorded and collaborated with many great artists including Americana greats Levon Helm, Garth Hudson and Rick Danko of the The Band, and rocker Dave Grohl of the Foo Fighters and Nirvana fame. Arlan has shared stages with many great songwriters of our time as well; the late Warren Zevon and Joan Baez, and modern artists like Guided by Voices, Shannon McNally, and Dave Matthews. Arlan has seen his music placed in the Edward Burns film, "Sidewalks of New York" and will be touring the country in support of "Razing a Nation"
