Product Description
AGENESS performs a music in the same tradition as that of GENESIS ("The Musical Box" era), without plagiarism or copy. The band simply assimilated what the essence and strength of this music was, the sounds and voices that made it characteristic, and gave it a surprising rebirth, largely influenced by MARILLION's neo Progressive rock. "Showing Paces" (1992) and "Rituals" (1995) are two excellent issues in this style. "Imageness" shows a music that matches its cover: splendid ! This album has everything to become one of the revelations of 1998, thanks among others to a beautiful suite that is about 26 minutes long. Here, neo Progressive is almost absent: energetic sequences beautifully follow each other with delicate acoustic guitar parts and electric tension-filled crescendos. The music integrates the spirit (And the voice !) of Peter GABRIEL's band when they were at their best level, and follow the same musical path that they abandoned. And of course, this is not a coincidence if the name chosen by their leader Tommy ERIKSSON is almost the anagram of their Anglo-Saxon counterpart
