Editorial Reviews
About the Artist
Wronoski is a singer/songwriter, but not in the pretentious sense one imagines when hearing those two slashed terms. For over twenty years, he has led The Missionaries through countless nights of beer-drenched, straight-laced rock-and-roll. On his first solo CD, he breaks out of that mold a bit to display some of his more eclectic tastes, but never loses the fire sparked by all those hard-living years. Wronoski is also an author of both fiction and poetry. Check out his novel "Knaves In Boyland" for a good laugh and his short story collection, "The Thaw" for any other emotions. His latest book, a poetry collection entitled "Anniversary Songs" garnered his highest praise from critics as varied as those at The Washington Post to those at his own home.
Product Description
The backbone of Wronoski's sound is rock-and-roll, but it's also laced with pop and country to great effect. This CD was recorded as he was going through a rough illness. Not knowing when he'd be feeling up to recording, he played all the instruments himself and recorded his original songs in a studio built in his den. But don't let this fool you. The production is first-rate and the songwriting and playing are outstanding. Early reviews have been exceedingly positive from listeners ranging in age from five to seventy-five. Apparently he recorded fourteen other songs that didn't make the cut. After listening to this CD, one only hopes we'll be hearing them sometime soon.
