About the Artist
Arcacy is mature alternative pop/rock, melodic, thoughtful, lyrical, and intelligent. Fans of adult alternative artists such as Sarah McLachlan, Matchbox Twenty, and Barenaked Ladies may enjoy Arcacy's music. Influences include Paul Simon, Peter Gabriel, Dire Straits, Pink Floyd, as well as classical and jazz artists.
Product Description
"Optimistic", the second album from Arcacy, includes 11 unique alternative pop/rock tracks with a cohesive, professional sound. The songs are very melodic and lyrically intelligent, delivered strong and straight but infused with tones of sadness, strength, and even subtle humor. Steve Green's lead vocals are deep in both register and emotion, and are complemented by Doug Vrooman's higher, wistful voice on many of the tracks. The instrumentation remains entirely guitars but this album employs a much wider range of tones, from strummed acoustics to lush distorted electrics to warbling solos, achieving a very deep musical sound. Peter Kostakis's jazz-influenced drums and other percussion decorate each song, and the addition of bassist Don White adds a solid rhythmic backbone. Fans of artists such as Peter Gabriel, Sarah MacLachlan, Dire Straits, Pink Floyd, Paul Simon, Barenaked Ladies, and Matchbox Twenty may enjoy this CD.
