About the Artist
The origins of Solis’ progressive rock sound goes back to the early 90’s when Karrie Todd-Smith and David Smith became seriously devoted to original music. We took that enthusiasm and with the help of drummer Jeff Todd of Seattle (Kar’s brother) and our friend Ron McLean on bass we cut "Shine" our first album.

The album became a tool for getting press, booking gigs at regional music festivals and generating interest with a couple of major labels. During this time the Karrie Todd-Smith Group (our name at the time) played live a lot and went through several personnel lineups. Karrie and David always continued writing no matter what the bandmember situation was.

As a turning point in our music careers we built Swinghut,a nicely equipped recording studio.Around this time, the KTS band dissolved and we began to chart our course for the future. We enlisted the help of session drummer Kevin Dodson and ex-KTS bassist Eric Arnold and got busy in the studio with our new material. Guitarist/writer Joel Pachernegg proved to be another missing link and Solis was born.

We have released our 2nd album "Solace" and are promoting it to College/ Commercial radio and seeking distribution opportunities. Interest in the Solis website has been growing steadily over the past year. The new album is now available on our website, Spokane area Hastings Entertainment stores,The Long Ear and Hastings in Cour de Alene,ID.with Amazon.com and other retail outlets to follow ASAP. We are preparing for live performances in the 2003 season as well as writing/recording new material.
