The last half of the 1990s brought a landslide of cookie cutter pop music across the nation's airwaves. With massive promotional budgets in place, talent promoters and recording company executives needed only to follow a recipe proven to provide for the shareholders. As hundreds, even thousands of those people profit, the only losers are the music lovers and fans of the world. The declaration of Rock and Roll independence has emerged in the course of rock and roll events. The basic needs and rights of the masses to enjoy true and honest rock and roll music calls to be fulfilled. No longer shall the masses be satisfied with factory made Rock and Roll. No longer must they accept the bland and mundane! True Rock and Roll lives and thrives within the souls of the five individuals that comprise the best Rock Band to come out of Northern California in the 90s. From the Russian River Records label comes a Rock Band for the new century -- II Big! Eyebrows raise quickly as! the first cuts are played. Instantly the sounds and visions are recognized as new, but true to the heart and soul of American Rock and Roll. It's hard to the core rock that is original! It's Rock and Roll that is written and performed with the listener in mind, not the top floor executive's bottom line. Just as America's strength and history are made up of millions of individuals from hundreds of ethnic and geographical origins, so is II BIG's wealth of talent. Five men from diverse backgrounds and musical influences have been producing original recordings, touring medium-sized clubs and performance halls, as well as opening for some of classic rocks' biggest names. II BIG ended 1999 on an upswing as several new and original songs have made their way to compact disc! The latest compilation from II BIG and Russian River Records brings together lead vocalist/keyboardist/arranger Ron Hedley, bassit Steve Lamun, drummer/producer Ken Ingels and lead guitarist/songwriter "extraordina! ire" Eddy Ottenstein. The two newest singles; "Sound of the Highway" and "I Keep Knockin" bring home the classic rock and roll sound that the world fell in love with. Formed in 1994, II BIG has performed in venues large and small with such classic rock favorites as Foghat, Blue Oyster Cult, Lover Boy, and recently a very successful performance with Grand Funk Railroad at The Konocti Harbor Resort and Spa located on Clearlake in Northern California.
