Product Description
Some 2 years ago Brian McDonalds surprised friend and foe with an amazing comeback (to the rock scene) album titled "Wind It Up". Apparently the excellent feedback from both press and fans (though actual sales were a tad disappointing I think) has inspired the man to come up with another record. And though I reckon that expectations were high, I can assure you that "Voyage" sounds like a natural progression after "Wind It Up". Brian McDonald is a man of many talents, and a man who appreciates a very wide range of musical styles. He names a few of his 'inspirations' in the album credits and these vary from the Beatles (clearly audible on ""Where You Are, Where I Am" to Bach and from Yes to Ravel. But the real power of his appreciation for all these composers and musicians is in McDonald's thorough understanding of songwriting and arranging. Now don't expect "Voyage" to be drenched in classical influences. Instead: expect how clever Brian has interwoven aspects of several musical styles into his very own and unique overall songs and sound. Atenzia. 2005.
