Editorial Reviews
'Round these parts, Garth Reeves is probably best known as "that bitchin' guitar player in Goodness." Look a little closer, however, and you'll discover that Reeves (a Scorpio who hails from Maryland, in case you keeptrack of these things) is hardly a one-dimensional musician with nothing but The Rock on his mind.
In fact, Blue Spark (as Reeves has chosen to dub his new outlet) recalls the better days of AM radio, when guys with world-worn voices spun sing-along songs about gals who made them better men and how familiar landscapes are irrevocably altered in the aftermath of a break-up.
Like his Goodness bandmates, Reeves' songwriting has never been confined to his primary band. Encouraged to let his own songs see the broader light of day, Reeves booked a demo session with Goodness bandmates Chris and Danny.
Producer Kevin Suggs started playing on the sessions, and eventually Chris' brother Rick was roped in to play bass. The line-up was completed with Joe Hadlock (another engineer/producer) on B-3 and piano. Voila! Blue Spark - and their debut album, Transmitter, were born.
Transmitter is the first full-length release on Good-Ink Records, a label owned and operated by Reeves and Goodness vocalist Carrie Akre. Future releases include a Goodness rarities album and Akre's solo debut.

Product Description
Beautiful arrangements built around the whiskey-soaked vocals and guitar of Garth Reeves, slide and steel guitar from Kevin Suggs, and the Hammond B3 organ of Joe Hadlock. Completing the Blue Spark package is a rock-solid rhythm section featuring veteran Seattle musicians Rick and Chris Friel on bass and drums. With a sound difficult to classify, Blue Spark's music ranges from rock to pop, with hints of country and blues. Band leader Reeves' songwriting is very personal and emotive, and their performance heartfelt and sincere.
