Product Description
RECORDANDO O VALE DAS MACAS is one of the main Progressive rock line-ups that came out of Brazil during the Seventies, next to MUTANTES, O TERCO and SOM NOSSO DE CADA DIA. With only one exceptional album recorded in 1977 ("As Crianças Da Nova Floresta"), guitar-player Fernando PACHECOs line-up greatly contributed to create the basis for a now typical South-American style. The players show some CAMEL and GENESIS (or even RENAISSANCE) influences, some delicate and refined atmospheres, charming vocals (In Portuguese, occasionally both feminine and masculine), a delicate and truly lyrical flute Apart from the references taken from the masters of this style, these musicians display a great personality and a noticeable virtuosity. The use of the violin played by their leader can also reinforce the similarities with another famous name of the local stage: Marcus VIANA (SAGRADO). As a bonus, well just add that it includes an eponymous and more than 18-minute long suite! "1977-1982" is the re-issue of this very album, with a thorough booklet that includes both texts and bilingual historic. The title change is justified by the fact that this new issue contains now two bonus tracks, recorded five years later and destined to be issued as a single. A swan song to the "Memory of the Apple Valley"
