Product Description
The Stray Cats should be given credit for bringing a breath of fresh air to the musical panorama of the 1980s.The trio joined forces on Long Island, NY but soon moved to the UK, bringing with them their own trademark style of new rockabilly. Their first album was an immediate success, so much so, that an army of copy-cat bands-all armed with double basses, Gretsch guitars & Spartan stand-up drum kits-soon flooded the scene. This CD features live tracks taken from a concert the band played at the Roxy in 1981, where our boys, rockabilly guitarist extraordinaire, Brian Setzer, Lee Rocker & Slim Jim Phantom, set the audience on fire with classics like 'Rock This Town', 'Stray Cat Strut' & a hair-raising Jeanie, Jeanie, Jeanie', & an unplugged studio session from 1990, featuring originals like 'Rumble In Brighton' & 'Lust N' Love' along with classic versions of 'Mystery Train, 'Summertime Blues' & 'Oh, Boy!'. 15
