Editorial Reviews
Dean Strickland started singing and playing guitar very young inspired by The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, Hank Williams and Chuck Berry. He played in high school bands, and dreamed of becoming a successful recording artist, but little did he know that his first release, an original song called "You Make Me Smile (I Want You to Know)" would be a best selling single in the college town of Denton, Texas, and a number one song on MP3.com's rock chart. His second release, an original song called "Suicide Note (I'm Doing This)," would reach number one on the alternative and indie charts of TONESPY.com the MP3 magazine.
Through a clever advertizing campaign, Strickland gained several thousand dollars in royalties with his music on the internet along with thousands of fans anticipating his next release. Hard work, determination perserverance are paying off big for this artist.
Strickland is a graduate of Musicians Institute in Hollywood, California. It's there that he recorded the "Some Girls To Blame", an LP stuffed to the gills with over 70 minutes of original tunes - every one of them as brutally honest and full of raw emotion that sent his earlier releases to the top of the charts.
With over fifty more tracks in his vault, Strickland's music can best be described as original eclectic that runs the gamut of various genres. He draws from his life experiences, pain, suffering, and joys of being in a relationship when writing songs. Incorporating elements of everything from hardcore rock to country and soft ballads, Strickland does not disappoint those who love rock n roll.
