Product Description
They say that behind every new wave/post punk act there's a prog past, and the Korgis are living proof. Formed out of the ashes of Bath loonies Stackridge by founders/songwriters Andy Davis and James Warren and drummer John Baker, the new act's style veered close to the intelligent ''skinny tie'' power-pop-punk peddled by the likes of Squeeze, XTC, Bram Tchaikovsky, the Jags and of course Elvis Costello, but with the dreamy Beatlesque edge the later Stackridge albums had aspired to. However, they achieved the one thing their father band never did- hit singles. 'If I Had You' and 'Everybody's Got To Learn Sometime' both hit the top 20 in 1979/80 and are included here on CD alongside choice cuts from their three albums, unheard rarities and new material. 19 tracks in all selected by the band. Angel Air. 2005.
