You may not know Khanoda's name yet [I didn't], but you'll want to remember it when you hear this self-effacing "greatest hits" collection of "Disposable Klassix and Other Potential Failures". Highlights include "Do What You Feel", "Hush, Whisper, Shut", "Slowly", the amazing "Could I Be Your Girl" and the early Liz Phair-esque "If You Kiss Me". Recommended listening for fans of Science Park and Future Bible Heroes
Product Description
"klosure. Disposable Klassix and Other Potential Failures (1988-1998)", by Kommunion recording artist, Khanoda (Kah-nah-da), is an unconventional "greatest hits" compilation that retraces the past ten years of this little-known singer and songwriter. From modest success overseas in 1988 with his first single "Do What You Feel", to the notable yet unnoticed trio of singles released from his obscure 1994 indie album, "Lessons Learned On Leithgow St."
A veteran of independent music; Khanoda initially arrived in 1988 as a dance artist, before making the leap into more introspective songwriting in the early nineties. With the release of his second album in 1994 titled "Lessons Learned On Leithgow St.", Khanoda took a more veracious approach towards his music lyrically, while keeping his pop sensibility intact. After several years of hardships--including the loss of his producer and friend Larry Murray--Khanoda reemerges from almost a four year absence to release "klosure."; a tongue in cheek retrospect, making light of the proverbial greatest hits collections of years end, and of his own "failed accomplishments".
Closing out this collection are two newly recorded tracks, "Twister/Farley Pinapple" and "Slowly".
