Rex was born in Akron, Ohio in 1949. He graduated high school and joined the Navy where he met his wife and married in 1971. In the summer of 1974 he was honorable discharged and settled near Rochester, NY. Rex stepped forward at a young age in vacation bible school as one of only two children that walked forward to accept Christ. While the following years have been filled with peaks and valleys he never lost sight of the priority and importance that God has for each of us. Blessed by a wife who has always been growing together with him in their understanding of Gods plan. With 5 children and 2 grand-children his words and music speak of the experiences and truths he has learned over the years. Rex started playing guitar at age 14. He played in several typical teen bands playing many different styles of music. After getting married he started writing music and tinkered with the piano his in-laws had in their home. Never believing the music he wrote would ever see the light of day. Rex works part-time and this has allowed him to follow his love for music. This CD is the culmination of that effort.

Rex's first CD includes twelve original tracks. Eight are vocal and six are instrumental. The varied combinations of meaningful words combined with ringing melodies leaves a feel good feeling when this CD reaches it's conclusion. There are 8 vocal tracks ranging over a wide gamut of styles. Jesus Jump is a hand clapping boogie that makes you feel like dancing. There's A Road is in the new age tradition of strings combined with choral backup. There are folksy simple 12-string arrangements and multi-instrument balleds. An added bonus is the 6 instrumental tracks. Rex provides 5 piano arrangements including originals and traditional holiday melodies as you have never heard them before. The sixth instrumental track is a 12-string picking melody called Looking For Jesus.
This CD provides easy listening where each track has it's own flavor and message. One thing is sure, you won't be left feeling bored that every song sounded the same.
