Canyengue, a Latin band based in the UK, has been playing Candombe in various popular clubs and international festivals around Europe for nearly ten years. Candombe is a popular musical style created by the descendants of Uruguay's slaves, which brings together African and European music.

The album Canfusion, fuses the Afro-Uruguayan rhythm called Candombe with Jazz, Funk, Salsa, Soca and also Hip-Hop, blending it with music samples.
Digitally recorded, mixed and mastered at two prestigious studios, in London (Katz's Kitchen) and Montevideo (Del Cordon), involving musicians from both sides of the Atlantic. Featuring in the album is the legendary drummer from OPA, Osvaldo Fattoruso, who has played and recorded with Airto Moreira, Fito Paez, Jaime Roos and Ruben Rada to name but a few. Also on percussion and vocals is the Uruguayan master drummer Ulises "guabiyu" Garcia.
Canyengue plays thundering rhythms together with uplifting melodies to create a unique form of Candombe fusion that you will want to listen to again and again, as all the tracks are vibrant and exciting.
