About the Artist
Ankata is a group born in Bamako from a meeting between Sam Sinayoko and Bruno Michel. Their repertoire of original creations, traditional popular songs resulting from the musical tradition of the Brotherhood of the Hunters, have gained them fans around the world.

Product Description
With the gorgeous sound of the kamale n’goni (harp-lute), this original string quartet from Mali – a Bambara, a Peul, a Malinke and a Toubab – takes us from Kita to Wassoulou, to track down the sources of the time-honored traditions of the hunters.

The group hopes to introduce a new generation to the kammelen n'goni, and to explore new horizons while sharing this extraordinary (and little known) instrument with the rest of the world.
