Editorial Reviews

About the Artist
The primary musician and producer/director of this album if Karin Stein ("La Negra Karin"), a Colombian musician whose voice has earned her praise from numerous sources, including Costa Rica's former president and Nobel Peace Prize Laureate, Dr. Oscar Arias Sanchez, who noted: "I'd like nothing better than to make her a citizen of this country [Costa Rica], just to claim that voice as ours!" (Oscar Arias, November 1994). She is an accomplished instrumentalist and composer. In addition to performing as a soloist, she is a member of Latin duo "Calle Sur" (.callesur.com) and South American ensemble "Los Llaneros" (.losllaneros.com). Albums of both ensembles may be reviewed and purchsed at Amazon.Com

Product Description
This tri-lingual children's album (Spanish, English, German) captures important elements of the Latin American, the North American, and the German cultures. These elements blend together beautifully in "Camaraca" and prove that global thinking and multilingualism are not only possible, but also fun! "Camaraca" contains well-known favorites such as the "Eentsy-Weentsy Spider" and "Twinkle Little Star," but also many lesser known songs, such as the Colombian folk songs "Chontaduro Maduro" and "Pescador, Lucero y Río," or the German Medieval tune "Es Führt über den Main." In addition to songs, the album contains poems, clapping games, and other special surprises, all performed by members of a single family, spanning three generations. Instruments used include the guitar, the accordion, the violin, the harp, Latin percussion, the piano, hand clapping, and of course lots of children's voices and laughter. A teacher's guide is available for use of this album in the classroom.
