Composer/pianist Richard W. Samuels has taken a simple format and done a lot with it. He plays piano with a light touch and his romanticism infuses every piece. His sideman are excellent; Guillermo Guzman plays bass and some percussion, and helped arrange the tunes, Ricardo (Tiki) Pasillas handles drums and percussion with such an even hand throughout and Richie Garcia adds just the right touch of percussion fills. It is all very sensitive and low-keyed. Justo Alamario plays soprano sax on two tunes.

...Samuels has written spare compositions that keep his piano in the forefront. He's not a flashy player, so there is a fine sense of cohesive cooperation between all the musicians. "Wind Dance" feels just a bit classical with its pretty melody. "Sea of Stars" closes the CD on a fine note. It is purely gorgeous and ends the CD with a satisfied sigh...
