"..gives a flavour of the musical goings on at one of America's prime Celtic gatherings. A marvelous souvenir of a a great event." John O'Regan - Radio Limerick
Product Description
You are invuted to share some of the finest moments from the 1996 Potomac Celtic Festival at Oatlands Plantation (http://www.PotomacCelticFest.org) . By 1996 the annual pan-Celtic Festival in Northern Virginia's rolling horse country had grown to an attendance of nearly 20,000, featuring 40 bands and 20 dance groups on 4 stages. The recipe of a few internationally known headliners, a few up-and-coming bands from out if town, and lots of stage time for local musicians, results in an eclectic program of Celtic music from different lands and times. To produce this compilation, 8-track digital recorders were connected to the sound systems at each of the stages. The 14 tracks for this CD were culled from over 40 hours of recording and offer a representative taste of the music at the Festival. Studio editing and effects were kept to a minimum to preserve the energy and spontaneity of the live performances.
