About the Artist
T N Seshagopalan is one of the top-ranking vocalists in Carnatic music today enjoying enviable popularity. Born at Nagapattinam in 1948, he made Madurai his home later and underwent training with Ramanathapuram C S Sankarasivam, a disciple of Harikesanallur Muthaiah Bhagavatar. He made rapid progress and became a noted singer within a short time. Seshagopalan has a very fluent voice that executes the slightest whim of his imagination. He has a dynamic style of rendering raga alapana, kriti singing, neraval and swara. He has a vast repertoire and can enthral audience with compositions in many languages. Seshagopalan is a widely travelled musician and is in great demand in US, Canada, Malaysia, Singapore and Australia.
