Raphaelle Eva grew up in the Caribbean Island of Guadeloupe until the age of seven. Shes been living in France since then but the nostalgia of her Caribbean childhood still shows in her songs.
Her father is from Martinique another island in the West Indies, her mother is half Swiss and French.
This first album called "Original" was an opportunity for many interesting collaborations:
It was produced by Kali and Vincent Bruley who also worked with artists like: Liz Mc Comb, Richard Bona, Guesh Patti, or Lokua Kanza. The bass was played by Mishko, who also accompanied Zazie, Pascal Obispo and The Nubians. Participation of musicians coming from classical music as well as from traditional Caribbean music gives a special identity to her songs. The international photographer Thomas Dorn realized the photo work.
Acoustic sounds particularly please this young songwriter. Her words are an invitation to travelling and are inhabited with her love for nature and human feelings. Her commitment is more of an affective one than a political one but she strives to defend the right to be different.
