About the Artist
As a child, he used to sing almost all the popular songs he heard on the radio,.He bought a keyboard and accompanied himself, singing in parties and ceremonies until 1991 when he decided to take his music more seriously and began studies in music at the Stockholm Culture and Music Center and then start writing songs. Performing a cover on a song by Googoosh (Goldoon), he got to be on the Persian New Year¹s Program which was to be broadcasted for the first time over all Scandinavia. He got an offer to join a new band as the band¹s lead singer. The songs were in English and Pouya and the band ³Food² acchieved great results when they won the first prize as the best Pop/Rock band in a music-contest arranged by Swedish MTV, with over 500 bands from all over Sweden. After 3 years he began singing in Persian again, only this time with his own music. 1998 he got a record-contract with ³Avang², one of the best and most prestige Iranian record-companies. His debute album, ³! Dream of the pearl², was released in the year 2000. At the time, Pouya is on a tour with his own band , while working on his next album at the same time which will be relieasde in autumn.
