About the Artist
Papak Shirazi was born in Shiraz, Iran. He writes music to help bring about freedom and democracy to his native land, Iran.

Product Description
"Sokhan" is written in Baroque/Classical style. The words are in Persian. In this composition the artist points out the suffering of Iranians for fourteen centuries. In 634 Omar, the head of the Islamic army from Arabia, initiated an explosive expansion of Islam. He invaded Syria, Damascus and later defeated Heraclius. In 635 he launched a savage assault on Persian Empire and entered into Persia. He then forced Iranians into accepting Islam. Those who resisted perished! Shahname, written by the grate Iranian poet Ferdosi, is a living proof of the invader's ruthlessness. The idea behind this album however, is not to blame others. The idea is to learn from the past, to respect other civilizations, and to live in peace.
