K2 is comprised of Karl Hayes, oboe and keyboards, and Keith Kinart, guitars, close friends and musical partners for over 30 years. Karl, a native of Binghamton, New York, began piano lessons at age 6 and oboe at age 10. Holding a Bachelor in Music Performance – Oboe, he has become a multi-instrumentalist, playing saxophone, flute, harmonica and keyboards. Keith, a native of Vancouver, Washington, holds a Bachelor of Science - Psychology degree, including studies in art and art history. Keith began playing guitar at the age of 12 and studied voice while living and performing in Philadelphia. Individually and together, their musical activities include performing, composing and arranging for classical, jazz, rock, country, improvisational and non-traditional ensembles. "Balance Mundo" is their second release, following "Moorish Sunset".
