About the Artist
MELO MAFALI (composer) is an international highly regarded musician, living in the area of Cologne. His list of credits is considerably long, and includes such greats as Rufus Thomas, Junior Walker and Bobby Kimball. He has played and produced for several artists and TV shows and commercials over the last 15 years, and has released three solo albums up to now. 1988 Melo met the contemporary dancer AIDA and was introduced to many oriental forms of music. Since then their collaboration has been very fertile, as this album will demonstrate.

Aida (Dancer/Choreographer) made her first steps into the world of oriental dance in Israel, in the year 1984. Thanks to her training in classical, afro dance and samba, she rapidly developed, mostly as an autodidactic, a unique dance style, which reflects itself upon all her solo and group choreographies. In 1990 AIDA founded her "Visions Ensemble", which collected plenty of consents in and outside of Germany. In 1992/93 AIDA produced the MC's "Visions of Orientalia" and "Mythos of Orientalia", both composed by Melo Mafali, which rapidly became a bestseller. Soon afterwards she founded her own dance studio in Cologne, where she could easily set her show, together with her ensemble, as well as train talented newcomers and professionals.
