About the Artist
Isabel Wallace was born in São Paulo, Brazil. She studied Music and Performing Arts at Santa Marcelina University and Classical piano at Carlos Gomes University. She started studying classical piano at Jardim São Paulo Conservatory when she was 5 years old, graduating at 14 years of age, when she started teaching piano. She won many awards including "The Best Bach Interpreter" in Brazil. At age 15 she played with the National Orchestra in the State of São Paulo conducted by Ernest Mahle. In 1979 she joined "Aurora Boreal", a Brazilian popular music band and performed for live TV events. She also played with Andre Bessas band, a composer well-known in Europe, and performed in the very upscale nightlife of São Paulo, playing various styles, from Bossa Nova to Traditional Rock, Pop and classical music. In 1999 she moved to the United States in order to study jazz. She has worked with various artists in Los Angeles and San Diego. Isabel is also a seasoned session player. In December 2001 she recorded her solo piano album entitled "Magic Touch" where she interprets Romantic Brazilian, Classical Pieces and Broadway themes.
