About the Artist
Influenced by Caribbean pop, Calypso, Dancehall, Junkanoo, Reggae, Soca, and U.S. pop styles, the group's leader Dwight Stewart was born and raised on Harbour Island, Bahamas. When he was younger, Dwight started playing guitar on hot summer days walking the streets of the island with friends. He was inspired to become a musician by other artists vacationing on the Island such as Sting, Lenny Kravitz, Baha Men, Jimmy Buffet, Hall and Oates and local gospel artist Rocky Saunders. Dwight plays bass with a pumping reggae style that makes just about anybody dance. His voice is sweet and soulful and as a leader he keeps the crowd entertained.

Product Description
The Courage Band was formed in 1985 by bandleader Dwight Stewart in Harbour Island, Bahamas. Band members include Chang Imlach (keyboards/vocals), David Kellogg (lead guitar), Dannard Anderson (drums/percussion), and Jammie Cartwright (lead vocals/percussion). The Courage Band loves to perform and dance together on stage and it shows.

Harbour Island, Bahamas – 60 miles east of Nassau -- is a tiny jewel of an island and just three miles long and a half-mile wide, with a Victorian style village of narrow streets and bougainvillea draped archways that is almost 400 years old. The friendly people are the descendants of slaves from Africa and those that escaped religious persecution in Great Britain. It has been for years the best kept secret of the very wealthy or extremely private from all over the world who relax or live there far from prying eyes. Harbour Island is the home of Chris Blackwell's Island Outpost Resort - "The Pink Sands," and the island’s cosmopolitan nature has afforded The Courage Band the unique setting of a rich local heritage combined with all the musical and cultural influences from the outside world.

Some of the band's highlights include opening for Sheila E, performing at a Bob Marley benefit concert in Iowa, becoming friends and jamming with Lenny Kravitz, Edwin McCain, Mick Jones, playing with Nassau’s Baha Men in concert, and touring as the Junkanoo Group for Jimmy Buffett.

The Courage Band has just released their debut album of original material, “Vitamin C.” The guys combined their writing skills and talents to create a compilation of slamming dance rhythms, hip urban sounds, catchy chats, and emotionally-charged lyrics. The album is packed with hit singles that will do well in the College, Urban, Dancehall/Reggae, R&B, and Pop markets.
