Ramon Ayala loyalists and longtime norteño purveyors, Intocable burst on the scene in the early '90s with a vibrant sound that knocked out many pale imitators. Lead singer-accordionist Ricky Munoz again shows off his norteño/soul/blues-drenched vocals. A few even say he sounds like a 19-year-old Ayala. The band's schtick is in full evidence: tension-filled music propelled by accordion runs, thumping bass, and light percussion. It's almost formulaic, but hey why not? The band's recent hits has proved consistent chart toppers on Billboard's Hot Latin Tracks. Even with the departure of Johnny Lee Rosas and Albert Ramirez, Intocable hasn't lost its golden touch.
