A Message from Santa Klaus

Editorial Reviews

Cadence
"Exhibits a power and personality more exuberant than most of his peers on the instrument."

Product Description
Originally released in 1995, A Message from Santa Klaus features drummer Klaus Weiss with Germany's NDR (North German Radio) Big Band. It is a well-cooked holiday banquet with muscular charts by Klaus Weiss, Bill Holman, Rob Pronk, Jorg Keller and Thomas Stabenow, with guest appearances by saxophonists Carolyn Breuer, trumpeter Till Bronner, pianist Roberto di Gioia and vocalist Annette Lowman.

For variety, there's down-home blues, a Basie-style burner and even a "Merry Christmas Polka." Breuer is a standout on soprano or alto, as is di Gioia, and the NDR Band lets it all hang out in support of Lutz Buchner's romping tenor on "Winter Wonderland."
