Editorial Reviews
Aesop Quartet is a true Chicago supergroup and, as such, is one of the most propulsive, funky, & explosive free jazz-funk ensembles anywhere.
Combined, its four members have worked and recorded with many of the greatest improvisors and composers of the latter half of the twentieth-century--including henry threadgill, pharoah sanders, john tchicai, sun ra, muhal richard abrahms, don cherry, et al. Other magnificent groups they lead or participate in include: Ernest Dawkins' New Horizons Ensemble, Ethnic Heritage Ensemble, DKV Trio, Tortoise, & Isotope 217.
