About the Artist
Pianist/composer Kerry Politzer is a New England Conservatory graduate. She has also studied jazz, classical and Brazilian music at the North Carolina School of the Arts and the Banff Jazz Workshop.

Her composition "Begin The Baiao" won Third Prize, Jazz Category in the 2000 Mid-Atlantic Song Competition. In 1999 her composition "Revelation" won an Honorable Mention in this competition. Both compositions also won Honorable Mentions in the 2000 John Lennon Songwriting Competition.

Kerry was a runner-up in the 1996 American Pianists Association 3rd Biennial Jazz Piano Competition; in that same year, she also performed a 3-month engagement in Tokyo. Her debut CD, "Yearning", which received four stars from All Music Guide, is available on the CAP Records label. The title track, "Yearning," is also featured on "Sax And The City: Musical Contributions From New York's Best Women Jazz Instrumentalists" (Apria Records, 2004). Kerry released her second and third CDs, "Watercolor," and "Labyrinth," on her own Polisonic label.

Presently Kerry can be seen in various performances around the greater New York City area with her modern jazz trio and her Brazilian repertoire quartet.
