Lenore Raphael pays tribute to her bebop roots in this wonderful album. With touches of Bud Powell and Thelonious Monk she does great service to Monk's standards of Eronel (Lenore spelled backwards), Ask Me Now, and Reflections (done solo with Monk's characteristic, angular approach). Her original tunes, Zoot Scoot (named for her dog Scooter) and Becky-De-Bop (for her dog Becky) are great examples of her bebop chops. This is a wonderful album and any fan of that era of music will enjoy this album.
