About the Artist
Shunzo Ohno arrived in the US to tour w/ Art Blakey & the Jazz Messengers. He went on to play with Roy Haynes (Hip Ensemble) & Machito & his Afro-Cuban Orchestra.In the 80's he joined Gil Evans (4years) while working w/ his own bands. Performed with Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter, Buster Williams,Larry Coryell and many others. A documentary based on his life and book was released in Japan.
