About the Artist
HERB SILVERSTEIN, MD (piano)

An ear surgeon by day, a budding composer and pianist by night, Dr. Herb continues to build his sand castle, grain by grain as he creates musical gifts for all to hear. Each of his CDs is a way to bring awareness of the beauty of sound, and the reason for his fund-raising efforts. His hope is that someday research will find the answers to deafness and all will be able to enjoy these same sounds. In the past 21 years, Silverstein has focused his musical talents on the specialty of jazz piano and composing.

Product Description
Let us unfold from the wrapper of fast paced living and reflect as the moon casts it's reflection on peaceful waters. Silvear Moon, a collection of soft, easy listening favorites, has the power to hold you in a mood- a romantic interlude. Recorded live over a three-week period, Dr. Herb Silverstein on piano, Greg Voorhees on bass, and Bob Lunergan on Drums flowed with the mood that was created by Silvear Moon. Opening with "Peacock" (J. Rowles), the stage is set for tranquility as the notes gently roll up and down the keyboard like the fanning of a peacock's tail. The arrival of "Twilight" (Barron) brings with it a bright, twinkling lightness while the ivories tickle our senses. Both "Millennium Waltz" and "Century Remembered" (both Silverstein) gently cocoon the listener in a series of emotions comfortable, reminiscent, hopeful. While "Sleeping Dancer" (Shorter) twirls the mists of imagination, our dreams of a special someone become reality as "Alone Together" ! (Dietz & Schwartz) we dance over the final peak of the Silvear Moon production. Gliding through the music, remember those people who aren't so fortunate, people whose hearing is impaired or absent. Each of the musical creations by Dr. Herb Silverstein is produced as a means to evoke awareness of the importance of hearing. All proceeds from these works go directly toward research, education and patient care at the Ear Research Foundation. Since 1979, the Ear Research Foundation has been making tremendous strides in advancing hose three dimensions, thanks to the efforts of all who support. We hope Silvear Moon will help open your ears to the beauty of music, to caring an sharing. May you find your own relaxing, romantic interlude and enjoy each moment.
