Editorial Reviews
When Roberts moved to New York City he was hired by Howard McGhee as a sideman. Throughout his stay in New York he worked with Charlie Rouse, Illinois Jacquet, Frank Wess, Buddy Tate, and Thad Jones. Roberts was also musical director for the show "Copasetics, Legends of Tap." The jazz tap group was led by Honi Coles and had such great dancers as Gregory Hines, Savion Glover, and Buster Brown perfoming in the group.

Product Description
This trio recording covers time-honored standards to Roberts' own compositions, this trio is the result of an improviser daring to be himself. Drawing on influences ranging from Bill Evans and Dave Brubeck, to Oscar Peterson, Dr. Billy Taylor and Herbie Hancock, the album underscores Roberts' enthusiasm for bebop's more lyrical and melodic pianists.
