About the Artist
GracePoint started 5 years ago, building a following in rural Minnesota where an original music scene did not exist. In the spring of 1997 the band made the decision to move to Minneapolis with hopes of expanding the audience for their blend of Metal Fusion. Two members of the troupe were lost in the move (the group still has a claim with the moving company). The first 'new guy' to join was bassist Sam Van Moer, whose incredible hybrid style of funk 'slap and pop' and finger picking perfectly compliments Lance Reed's acrobatic drumming. While in search for the perfect vocalist, guitarists Stefan Radzilowski & Lon Kunze perfected the weaving, intricate guitar lines that have become their trademark sound. After an extensive regional search for a singer, Matt Tennessen came to call. Tennessen truly added the missing link, his versatile voice conveys the strength, struggle, pain and questioning of the music. Having played a wide variety of venues, both locally, and regionally, GracePoint is ready to barrel full force into Minnesotas newfound heavy scene. GracePoint's Debut CD, Science of Discontent, is a testament to their perseverance and vision. It shows the determined spirit that has driven the band to self-record/produce (engineered by guitarist Lon Kunze) a professional sounding recording that is distributed through their own record label, CandleWax Records.

Metal Fusion for the New Millenium!
Incredibly complex instrumentation with heavy, melodic vocals make this debut CD different from most new metal. If you enjoy aspects from the realms of Metallica, Dream Theater, Cynic, Fates Warning, and Rush, you will truly love this disc.
