Editorial Reviews
'This is a band of players concerned not only with performance, but with tone and that makes for good-and fresh-listening.'
Product Description
Urban groove, Northern Indian, Folk, Brazilian percussion and classic Jazz, this music threads together the sounds of where gypsies traveled with a modern urban sound. Mixing the saz and saxaphone, vinyl, violin and voice. Breathing Rumi and incanting America. It's the end of the line that improvisation begins.
Guitarist Gregory James composes arrangements that reflect freedom and change. He's joined by Kai Eckhardt on bass, formerly of the John McLaughlin Trio, and Deszon Claiborne on drums. Craig Easley reads his words and Baron Shul intertwines string, wind and keyboard melodies. Brazilian musician Celia Malheiros adds percussion to the tone of Rasaki Aladokun's talking drum and congas.
