Ronald Turner and The Fashion Statement Band is a professional, clean-cut group of musicians that give their musical best to put joy in the minds and hearts of listeners through our deeply felt creativity. Our group was established in 1990 as a jazz/funk ensemble. We consist of four well-educated instrumentalists utilizing saxophones, keyboards, electric bass and drums. We play a variety of music ranging from smooth jazz, contemporary/straight ahead jazz to funk and blues. Each player in the group is a multi-talented musician having played with world-renowned artists like Dizzy Gillespie to contemporary artist Maxwell.

Scheduled for release during early 2003 is their first smooth jazz CD entitled, "It’s All About Love". It is a sexy blend of smooth jazz and love songs, rhythm flavored Latin composites and influential overtones of funk spiced with R & B. It is getting airplay on KXPT in Las Vegas, NV, WANM and WFSU in Tallahassee, FL CIMRadio, Indonesia (Internet radio), WUMR in Memphis, TN, KBLX in San Francisco, WBZC in Burlington, NJ and Live 365 "Joe Kelly And The Upper Room" (Internet Radio) WVOF in Fairfield, CT.

Ronald is affiliated with the All That Jazz promotion team in Las Vegas, Nevada. All That Jazz clients are Kenny G, Dave Koz, Boney James, Norah Jones, George Duke, Stanley Clarke, Hubert Laws, Herb Alpert, Norman Brown, and Gerald Albright.

Songs from the CD, It’s All About Love, have been on the Internet charts of Soundclick.com since they were submitted in October 2002. The title track, "It’s All About Love", was in the top 10 on the Soundclick.com charts in both genres of Smooth Jazz and Jazz charts. It reached number one on the charts in the Smooth Jazz genre and number two in the Jazz genre within ten (10) days of it’s submission and remained in those position for over a week. It is still in the top 25 on the charts currently. Another song from the CD, "Mr. Gary (aka Slam Dunk)", reached number one on the Soundclick charts under the World Music/Latin Salsa genre. It is currently within the top 5 under this genre.

We have performed concerts for the Los Angeles Unified School District, the Federal Aviation Administration, Hughes Aircraft Satellite Division, The Collegebound Foundation, parties, receptions and churches in the Los Angeles area. We have developed a good following and have thrilled audiences wherever we have displayed our talents.

Ronald Turner is the leader, drummer and songwriter of the Fashion Statement band. He is a former public school music teacher where he taught for 5 years in Florida and 8 years in Los Angeles, California. Currently he is the drummer for the Guidance Church choir in Los Angeles and the director and arranger of the Guidance Men’s Choir.

He has performed with singer Esther Phillips at the Newport Jazz Festivals at Carnegie Hall, the Oakland Coliseum, and the Hollywood Bowl. Also he has performed or arranged music with Ray Charles, Freddie Hubbard, Hubert Laws, Patrice Rushen, Phil Perry, Don Julian, the Penguins, the Coasters, Rev. James Cleveland, Henry Jackson, the Los Angeles Male Ecumenical Choir, the Platters, Richard Berry, Brenton Wood, Cardella Demilo, and gospel singer Bessie Griffin.

In early 2001, The Fashion Statement band began recording their first CD. The group is a mix of very highly talented, well-educated musicians.
