When you get down to the serious history of guitar 'twanging', Al Casey is a name standing right at the very beginnings of the sound. A great rock guitarist (not to be confused with the equally great jazzman who played with Fats Waller), Casey was the musician who first took the high-school Duane Eddy under his wing & was right there with Lee Hazlewood & Eddy when they developed The Twang Heard Round The World in 1958. 'Jivin' Around' collects together Al's entire output of 26 tracks made for the Stacy label between 1961-1963. These recordings include the whole of the legendary 'Surfin' Hootenanny' LP plus three Hot 100 hits & two previously unreleased sides. The album features productions by the afore-mentioned hitmaker Lee Hazlewood. Ace. 1995.
