After briefly disbanding in December 1946, Tommy Dorsey re-formed his band in the summer of 1947. And, although the post-war entertainment scene was undergoing some serious changes, Dorsey continued to tour as if it were 1944. For collectors, this recording includes the two-part "TD's Boogie Woogie," never before issued, except as a special DJ promo!
This disc is part of Hep Records' Metronome Series, whose main aim is to issue albums of well-known jazz musicians and bands of the mid-1940s drawn from radio acetates and transcriptions.
