Hedda was born and raised in Texas but never really fell into the music indigenous to the region. Her instincts led her to the divas of yesteryear - Ella, Billie, and Lena. Soul and performance interested Hedda as a developing vocalist and her travels through the world of music took her from classical training, to torch jazz, to big band, into rock, onto blues, to folk, and then into jazz trios. Her talent now lives in this amazing style of jazz-tinged pop.
Hedda Layne’s collaboration with the talented writer/arranger, Troy Lee Warden and cutting edge producer, Brandon Bishop has resulted in this exciting release. The album was recorded during the Summer of 2001 at Carl Thiel Studios in Austin, Texas and was mastered by Jerry Tubb at Terra Nova Digital Audio.
