Small Talk

Editorial Reviews

From Jazziz
Small Talk displays Eric Essix's laid-back approach to both the guitar and to singing. "I want to touch people with my compositions, with the music I've written," says Essix, "more so than doing all the flashy playing." In the tradition of George Benson, Essix scats on many of his tunes. Our featured track, "For Real," boasts a mixture of tight, programmed beats, Essix's bluesy guitar licks, and his smooth R&B vocals.
