The Artist, Ric Mandell, has been active as a Pianist and Composer for nearly 20 years. From early prodigious-like youth performances, to recent forays into Television, Film, and Commercials, his Compositions have aired Worldwide. He has toured and/or performed with Rock, Jazz, Blues, as well as Classical Artists. This wide array of experiences is certainly reflected in the depth of writing and playing on this Disc. The players collected on this Disc represent the "cream of the crop" of performing Musicians across the country. They have performed as Featured Artists for acts as far-ranging as Bobby McFerrin, Lyle Lovett, The Who, Jim Bailey, Andy Williams, Henry Mancini, Brian Setzer, Frank Sinatra, Chaka Khan, Sheena Easton, The Los Angeles Raiders Band, Bobby Caldwell, Spyro Gyra, Roy Hargrove, Art Farmer, Roy Haynes, etc. They have also contributed widely to countless Film, TV, and Commercial Music recordings, as well as donations of Time and Talent to various Charitable Organizations such as The American Red Cross, City Of Hope, MADD, Cedars-Sinai Hospital, Handicapped Children Of America, and Children's Hospital Of Los Angeles.

"A Road Less Traveled" is an instrumental collection of "Songs Without Words". The Music would generally be classified as Contemporary Jazz. There is an almost Chamber-Music like approach to the Disc as a whole, as the focus of Instruments changes from Song to Song. A heavy emphasis on Melodic and Airy Piano Leads, Soaring Trumpet lines, and Soulful Sax passages weave their way through the Tunes. Each of the Songs is like a "slice of life", pinpointing certain Humanistic Moods and Emotions. The entire Album was recorded with Live Instruments, adding to the Human Element, and making the listener feel as if the Music was being performed in the room, just for them. The overall effect of the Disc is rather personal and contemplative.
