Project Remix is a CD collection of remixes of tracks from Dave's True Story's latest album, Nature, plus a bonus version of the Dave's True Story classic, "Sex Without Bodies." These tracks offer a different perspective altogether of Dave's True Story, from the point of view of a group of remixers, turntablists and scientists, chosen for their unique, different and varied approaches, given no limits, and encouraged to "feel free." The jazz-pop sounds and songs of Dave's True Story go to some surprising places and take on wholly new flavors on Project Remix.

The original version of Nature was released in April to a wave of critical praise. Jazz Times described the sound as "self- help jazz infused with street-smart cynicism," while The Washington Post called the band "one of the best-kept secrets in pop music, consistently producing songs that are witty and wise, sultry and soulful, and distinctively arranged." On Project Remix, the songs of Nature take on a new life of their own, with added twists and turns limited only by the imagination of the remixers themselves. The bonus remix of "Sex Without Bodies" is a continuing fan favorite of the band’s live shows and was originally released in 1998.
