The four lead guitarists who dominate the compilation-Moreno, Robin Nolan, Jimmy Rosenberg and Jon Larsen of Hot Club de Norvege-all play with various degrees of romanticism, fervor and ingenuity. You'll want to swing your partner, bump and grind, and simply grin at the inventive journeying from note to note. Though the guitarists rule this album, there is also some brilliant ensemble playing, especially on Hot Club de Norvege's tunes, where Finn Hauge scrapes and slides his fiddle in sly counterpoint to Larsen's manic picking. --Chris King
